1. Who We Are
Prediction Jar ("the platform", "we", "us") is operated by Oleksandra Lysenko, an individual based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Contact: [email protected] Until a legal entity is established, the platform is operated as an individual project. These terms are binding regardless.
2. What Prediction Jar Is
Prediction Jar is a community platform where users record predictions about the future of technology, science, and society — and revisit them when the predicted time horizon arrives. It is not a betting platform. No real money or financial instruments are involved.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Prediction Jar. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 16. If we become aware of such an account, we will delete it.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. One person, one account — creating multiple accounts to manipulate community features is prohibited.
5. Content You Post
You own the predictions, comments, and other content you post on Prediction Jar. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, and distribute your content as part of operating the platform. This licence ends when you delete your content or close your account. You are solely responsible for the content you post. You must not post: Content that is illegal, defamatory, or harassing Spam, advertising, or commercial solicitations Content that infringes on the intellectual property of others Misinformation presented as factual that could cause harm Content that reveals private personal information about others We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules, without notice.
6. Our Content
The Prediction Jar name, logo, design, and platform features are our intellectual property. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written permission.
7. Prohibited Uses
You may not: Use automated scripts or bots to create accounts or interact with the platform Attempt to access, scrape, or extract data from the platform without authorisation Use the platform to distribute malware or conduct phishing Attempt to reverse engineer or compromise the security of the platform Resell or commercialise access to the platform without our consent
8. Resolution of Predictions
Prediction resolution is performed by the prediction author and reviewed by the community. We do not guarantee the accuracy, fairness, or completeness of any resolution. The platform is a community tool for intellectual discussion — it is not a financial instrument and carries no monetary stakes.
9. Disclaimers
Prediction Jar is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times, free from errors, or that predictions will be accurately resolved. Nothing on this platform constitutes financial, legal, medical, or any other professional advice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which may be zero if you use the free tier).
11. Termination
You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your content may be removed, although cached or archived copies may persist for a reasonable period.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania and, where applicable, European Union law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
